Nothing is more aggravating than using the Uber app to order a car while hurrying to an appointment and receiving the dreaded “Uber No Cars Available” warning. You may never have encountered this depending on where you live, yet it happens to many individuals all the time.
We will talk about how to troubleshoot the problem or work around it. But first, let’s look at why you are seeing “Uber No Cars Available” in the first place.
“Uber No Cars Available” Mean
The Uber No Cars Available error indicates that there are no active drivers in your area who are willing to pick you up.
Remember that Uber drivers are independent contractors, not employees, who are free to log on and off at any time.
Even if there were drivers available just a few minutes ago, they may have logged off or been preoccupied with other passengers. In smaller cities and towns, this Uber down error is more common. It can, however, occur anywhere, albeit it is less common in large cities such as New York City.
Why Does Uber Say No Cars Available?
Demand Is Out of Control
When there is a lot of demand, even in larger cities or villages, Uber may not have any drivers available.
Consider the following scenario: It’s freezing outside, and it’s raining cats and dogs. It’s also rush hour. It’s eight o’clock in the morning, and everyone must be on time for work.
Due to closures and work, the subway or public transportation system is suffering delays. So, in order to get to work on time, everyone is ordering an Uber.
The strong demand may cause the system to become overburdened, and there may be no cars available at any given time. The issue is not that there aren’t enough drivers; rather, there are too many passengers. They are being driven about by Uber drivers who are unable to accept new rides.
Imagine you’ve just arrived at a busy airport where a number of other flights have also arrived at the same time. The airport bus isn’t working, or there aren’t any more buses available that day.
Because the airport is 30 miles (48 kilometers) from the city, all travelers are attempting to get an Uber. In that case, the Uber no drivers available error may appear due to the high demand.
The App that is No Longer in Use
If you haven’t updated your Uber app in a while, you may notice that the now-outdated version displays ‘No Cars Available’.
So, even if it’s clear daylight or highly unlikely that you won’t find an Uber cab in the area where you are, it’s possible that you won’t notice any cars around you due to the outdated version.
Few Drivers on the Road
Even if there isn’t much demand, there may not be enough drivers on the road at other times. This is a typical problem in smaller towns and villages, and it can even happen in larger cities during odd hours of the night, such as 3 a.m., when most drivers are sleeping.
Alternatively, they may prefer to drive exclusively during the best hours for Uber drivers, such as weekends or nights.
Due to inclement weather, such as heavy rain, flooding, or hailstorms, Uber may temporarily suspend operations until the weather improves. You may also notice ‘No Cars Available’ if your local government has issued a weather warning, leaving Uber and other ridesharing apps unavailable.
Problems with the Network
You may frequently see ‘No Uber Available’ in Uber due to variable network connectivity, which prevents Uber from syncing data. Surf the internet to see if you have any network troubles; if you do, it’s very possible that you’re getting ‘No Cars Available’ as a result.
There are a variety of different factors, both social and non-social, that could result in Uber having no cars available. For example, if Uber’s partners are protesting or if a global pandemic is causing travel restrictions, you’ll see ‘No Cars Available’ in Uber.
“Uber No Cars Available” What should you Do?
Solution 1: Wait a While and Try Again
When there are no cars available to pick you up, Uber will give you an error message. If you wait a few minutes, automobiles carrying other passengers may drop them off and become accessible. Drivers hoping for a hit can get closer to you that is close enough for Uber to notice you.
Solution 2: Update the Application
Whether you’re using an older version of the app, you should upgrade it to check if the issue has been resolved. If you’re using an older version of the software, you’ll usually get a message when you open it asking you to upgrade it. To bring up to date:
Go to the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store to get started. In the search field at the top of the app, type ‘uber.’
Select ‘Uber‘ from the search results as they appear (identified by its logo).
After you’ve clicked ‘Update‘, open the app and try to hail a cab.
Solution 3: If at all Possible, Change Locations
Consider going a few blocks down to see if that makes a difference. This works for the same reason I stated above: you might get near enough to an Uber driver idle on the side of the road for them to show up as a potential driver.
Additionally, if some roads are one-way, an Uber driver who is not far away may have to drive a longer distance to reach you.
That can be changed by walking a few blocks down the street. You don’t have to go for a walk down the street just yet. You can instead relocate the pickup location icon on your map to a nearby area.
Solution 4: Make a Different Uber Car or Uber Ride Reservation
Certain Uber rides are less common than others; for example, if you try to book an Uber XL, you may get ‘No Cars Available’ because SUVs are less common on the roads than sedans.
It’s also conceivable that, depending on availability, you won’t be able to discover Uber Pools or Uber cabs that allow pets in your area. In such circumstances, you can try scheduling a different Uber journey that is one that is available, as opposed to the previous one.
Solution 5: Take a look at Lyft
Check out Lyft for a quick solution. Drivers for Uber and Lyft are frequently different. Just because there aren’t any drivers available on Uber doesn’t mean there aren’t any on Lyft.
Indeed, in some places, Lyft may attract more drivers than Uber. Alternatively, because Lyft drivers are in lower demand than Uber drivers, there may be more available. If this problem occurs frequently, you might want to consider renting a space.
Solution 6: Use a Different Account to Log-in
If they aren’t experiencing the ‘No Cars Available’ problem, but you are, it’s most likely because Uber has flagged you (i.e., if you have violated some of their policies lately).
Given that you do not have infinite time to repair the problem and be on Uber’s good side in order to get out of your predicament, we recommend creating or logging into a new account.
To join up for a separate account, or to put it another way, to make a new account, follow these steps:
To get started, open the Uber app and tap the three-lined bar in the top left corner.
Scroll to the bottom of the page in ‘Settings.’
At the bottom of the page, you’ll see ‘Sign Out.’ Sign out of your current profile by tapping on it.
Now, on the display, select ‘Sign-Up’ and fill in the required information.
Use a phone number that isn’t the same as the one you used to create your prior profile. Also, use a different email address. Everyone, in general, has two phone numbers; make sure the one you used to create the account is active.
Before you can sign up, you must first be authenticated. Check to see whether your problem has been resolved once you’ve signed up.
If you already have an account (that isn’t marked), you should sign into it instead of registering a new one. Follow these steps to accomplish this:
Sign out as directed in the steps on how to create a new account above.
Now select ‘Sign In.’
Choose how you’d like to sign in once you’ve been led to the sign-in page, whether it’s by email, phone number, or a third-party service like Google or Facebook.
Check to see whether the problem still exists once you have signed in.
Solution 7: Consider a Workaround for Privacy Infringement
If you do not want to give up your flagged account that has been reported by Uber for violating some user community guideline or regulation, try contacting support and presenting them with a recent ‘civility course certification’.
For a modest charge, an online civility certification course is offered. If you treat the support personnel well, you may be removed from Uber’s “no ride” list and your ride requests will begin to be approved again.
Solution 8: Uninstalled and then Reinstalled
If Uber is showing ‘No Cars Available,’ you can try refreshing the app by closing and restarting it after a minute or two to see if there is a momentary glitch. If it doesn’t work, try removing the app and reinstalling it.
If the problem is due to a server fault, uninstalling and reinstalling the Uber app is likely to solve the problem.
Q:- Is it possible to know how many Uber drivers there are?
Q:- When Uber says “requesting,” what does that mean?
When you get the “Uber No Cars Available” notification, you will know what’s going on. If getting a ride with Uber is proving tough, consider one of the options listed above.
If that doesn’t work, check Lyft to see if there are any drivers available. Plan your rides ahead of time in the future. This will decrease the likelihood of this occurring and give you time to find another method of transportation if it does.
