If you are searching for the details of how to turn your regular speakers into Bluetooth speakers, then here we will discuss it today.
We all enjoy music, movies. Anything that has sound along with pictures. Sometimes, even the sound is enough. And we buy speakers that can give us good quality of sound output. But often we end up buying wired speakers because they have better quality. And then, we end up wondering if we should have brought the wireless one.
Wireless speakers do hold certain advantages over wired speakers. For one, they are easy to carry anywhere and connect with many devices. Also, they do not have so many wires. That helps you avoid the creation of a jungle of wires around your devices.
There are many questions that come to our minds when trying to change your wired speaker into a wireless one. I will try to answer as many of them as possible. So, let’s get started.
What is the need?
There can be various reasons due to which you have ended up looking for this guide. Maybe you want to get rid of the wires that are running around your house.
Or maybe you’re just tired of carrying the speakers from one room to another, or you wish to use the device even when you’re using the device to watch something or listen to music.
Or you have a few guests who keep suggesting their choice of songs, and it is too troublesome to stand up and go to the connected device, and play it. It sounds simple and an easy task but it is very quickly turned into an annoying and irritating task.
Personally, I wanted a wireless experience, and also, I spent a good amount of money on my wired speakers, and I would have hated to spend on wireless speakers as well. And that is why I ended up researching different ways to set up my wired speakers and turn them into wireless speakers.
Is it possible to change wired speakers into wireless ones?
Yes, it is possible to achieve that. It is not a difficult process either. You would just need a proper guide of steps to do that. And I will go ahead and provide you with the steps today. There are a few things which you are gonna need to get done.
What are the things that you would need?
There are only a few things that you would need. I have prepared a list of all the things that would be needed. Here are the things that you would need:
- Speakers – You would need a set of speakers. Of course, for you to make wireless speakers out of a pair of wired ones, you would need the speakers to be wired.
- A device – You would need a device through which the speakers are gonna be connected. Of course, the device would have to be a device that has Bluetooth. A smartphone or a laptop or any PC which has Bluetooth enabled.
- A Bluetooth receiver – The receiver is the main device that is going to be used to make the wired speakers into a wireless one. This device is not cheap, but it is not extravagantly expensive either. You can get it from any computer hardware store. You can also buy the receiver from any e-commerce website. They are available almost on every e-commerce website which sells computer hardware.
Once you have all those things, you can go ahead and proceed further with the steps to convert your wired speakers into wireless ones.
What is a Bluetooth Receiver and why is it required for this?
A Bluetooth receiver is a device that converts a wireless signal into a line signal. To simplify the explanation, it converts wireless signals and transmits them through wired and vice-versa. And that is why it is the most important requirement if you wish to change your wired speakers into wireless ones.
The Bluetooth receiver does require power. So, the receiver is usually connected with the speakers as speakers usually are powered by a power source. They require the power to boost the line-level signals that are used to transport the audio signals to the speakers.
So, the external power does come in handy with the Bluetooth device as it would enable you to connect the Bluetooth device directly to the speakers.
However, it is possible that your speakers can be powered through your device. Now, in that scenario, you would need a power supply that can be used to power the Bluetooth device and the speakers as well.
Once, the setup is done. We can move on to the steps to set up the speakers and turn them into wireless speakers.
How do get it done?
The steps are fairly simple and very easy to follow. The following are the steps which you need to follow:
Step 1: Power up your wired speakers.
Step 2: Now, an aux cable is usually provided with the Bluetooth receiver. However, you would have a cable running from your speakers. It is the same cable that you connect with your device in order to use them with the device.
Step 3: Instead, this time you will connect that cable to your Bluetooth receiver.
Step 4: And now, connect your Bluetooth receiver to a power socket or any power supply which you have available within the range of the cable.
Step 5: Once, that is done, your Bluetooth receiver will power up and go directly into pairing mode. Pairing mode is the mode that enables you to connect your device through Bluetooth.
Step 6: Now, pair your device with your Bluetooth receiver.
Step 7: And it is done, you can now play anything, and the Bluetooth receiver will change those signals to line-level signals.
The steps are pretty straightforward, and nothing is complicated in any manner.
The receiver does provide better quality compared to wireless speakers. I would highly recommend that you use this setup to get a wired speakers experience even with wireless connections.
I was able to achieve what I intended to, and this became a very amazing thing. I hope you find this to be useful and easy. Enjoy the wireless experience on yours.
